Changzhou Museum joins Shanghai Metro Area ?+8 City Museum Development Alliance

The Founding Conference of Shanghai Metropolitan Area ?+8 City Museum Development Alliance convened on November 25.

Led by Shanghai History Museum (Shanghai Revolution Museum), members of the alliance include the city museums of Wuxi, Changzhou, Suzhou, Nantong, Ningbo, Huzhou, Jiaxing, and Zhoushan.

The conference discussed and approved the Alliance Statutes. Zhou Qunhua, deputy curator of Shanghai History Museum, was elected the founding chairperson of the alliance. Xie Xiaoting, curator of Suzhou Museum, and Qi Yingchun, deputy Party secretary of Ningbo Museum, were elected deputy chairpersons.

A metropolitan area refers to an urban form comprising a one-hour commuting circle centered on a metropolis within a city cluster, according to a guideline issued by the National Development and Reform Commission in 2019.

The Shanghai metropolitan area includes Shanghai, Suzhou, Wuxi, Changzhou, Nantong, Ningbo, Jiaxing, Zhoushan, and Huzhou.
