2022 Changzhou Library Forum with International Friendship Cities held online

On November 30, Changzhou Municipal Foreign Affairs Office and Changzhou Library jointly hosted the 2022 Changzhou Library Forum with International Friendship Cities online.

Attendees at the forum include representatives from the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, Culture and Tourism Bureau, Changzhou Library, and the city libraries of Stavropol and Perm of Russia, Arad of Romania, Essen of Germany, and Lanus of Argentina.

With the theme “Recover and Reshape - Responsibilities and Missions of Library in the Post-Pandemic Era, the forum presented a platform for librarians to exchange ideas on how to demonstrate the value of libraries in the post-Covid-19 era. The participants from friendship cities presented their libraries through live speeches and video messages, and shared their innovative practices for distributing resources and upgrading online services.

Qian Hong, director of Changzhou Library, talked about their endeavor to become a hybrid library by continuously enhancing the features and technologies to attract more visitors, encourage people to read, and inspire creativity and innovation.

The Municipal Foreign Affairs Office and Changzhou Library will continue to inject impetus into the cooperation mechanism and deepen exchanges with international friendship cities in a wide range of fields.
